About Me
How I'm growing & where I'm going
I am a northern and central New Jersey-based educator in pursuit of a position as a middle- or high school social studies teacher.
In a sentence, my pedagogical philosophy is as follows: I do not teach history; I teach historians. This stems from a conviction that educating children for the twenty-first century requires us to foster their innate curiosity and critical perspective. As such, I place inquiry directly at the center of what my students and I do. Only by doing so can we turn the traditional social studies classroom into a laboratory for social change—a space for students to ask questions and tap into their sense of justice, in which learners are valued not as passive recipients of knowledge, but active architects of it.
Currently completing my year-long clinical internship, by June 2022, I will hold a Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing in the State of New Jersey to teach social studies to all grade levels.
